We have been looking at the dark shadows that control our subconscious and specifically, what causes us to make our irrational decisions: our ego. We find ourselves doing things that fail in our business; when consciously, we truly do want to improve our business. Since 95% of our thoughts are subconscious, they surprisingly have much more control over us than our conscious mind actually does. We have discussed a few ways to view and understand the subconscious mind: meditation, Sedona Method, Zero Limits, and so on. Once we can recognize our dark shadows, then what can we do now that we know that all of our power and creativity lie within this part of us?
The first thing that we must do is recognize that the dark shadow we have hidden for possibly years is part of us. Do not judge it. Just understand that you are who you are for many reasons, and one of those is because of our faults and dark shadows. In numerous cases, your dark shadows will be judged negatively by others. You must understand that it is still a part of you; once you recognize it, you can then change how you respond. The next step is to understand the emotion that you feel when you think about this dark shadow. Is it anger, fear, or some other emotion? Do not shove your feelings back down again and bury your shadow; instead, let it surface, accept it, and then that shadow can no longer have polarity over you. Also, understand that all of your creativity and power lie within that feeling. If you choose to accept the dark shadow, it can actually become your friend and you can accomplish things you never dreamed of. Always recognize that feeling or emotion and know that you have to deal with it, not ignore it.
All of us go through life with these shadows. The difference between successful and unsuccessful people is the ability to recognize the dark shadows and accept them as part of who we are. Learn to forgive yourself and accept who you are. See how your whole world will change. As you forgive yourself, you will forgive everyone else and everyone around you will suddenly start to look different to you. The Zero Limits method uses four statements that you need to say to your god and to yourself: I Love You, I Am Sorry, Please Forgive Me, and Thank You. Try this method the next time you feel that emotion and see if your situation does not take a turn for the better. Next time, we will discuss the methods of discovering your dark shadows and how they can help free you up for more success.
